About ING’s Finance Talent Programme

This three year tailor-made programme is a unique chance to learn by doing. This means you’ll get real responsibility from the moment you walk in the door.

In your first year, you will work on two challenging projects. Since Finance plays a key role throughout the entire company they take place in various divisions, at corporate level or in one of ING’s many business lines. As you are part of an international team, there are opportunities to do one project abroad.

The next two years are all about, deepening your knowledge, continuous network building, and developing your consultancy and leadership skills. You choose a two year financial position to suit your talent and ambitions. A few challenging examples: Consultant Strategy & Business Change, Financial Analyst, Fund Controller, (senior) employee management accounting, and Manager Planning & Control. You will collaborate closely with your colleagues, both in our business units and in staff divisions such as Legal, Risk Management and HR. In the beginning most Finance careers have a more specialistic focus. Later on this transfers into (general) management positions, with a larger footprint within the organisation.

By the end of the traineeship, you will be an experienced finance professional and fully equipped to take the next step in your career.

It’s your career

We believe in facilitating talent rather than leading people by the hand, so the initiative you show will determine your opportunities. But you won’t be on your own. You will get a wide range of development opportunities throughout your career, depending on your own specific interests and strengths. Additionally, a career officer from Human Resources will coach you during your entire traineeship.

During the programme, you will get the following study opportunities:
